Cross Country has been a varsity sport at Maine Maritime Academy since 1996 and was the first women’s team varsity sport to complete a season at the Academy.
The Lady Mariners compete at the NCAA Division III level and are members of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). In their brief history, the Women's Cross-Country team has achieved much success, capturing conference championships in 1997 and in 1998.
The team trains over some of the most beautiful trails and roads in New England. The home course is a challenging 5K trail that includes roadwork, wooded trails, and demanding hills, finishing inside historic Fort George adjacent to the MMA campus.
