Lady Mariners beat UMPI 1-0 and Improve to 9-6 on the year
Presque Isle, Maine - The Maine Maritime Women’s Soccer team traveled to Presque Isle Thursday and came away with a 1-0 win over UMaine Presque Isle. The win moves MMA's season record to 9-6 and it was the team's 6th shut out of the season.
MMA got on the game winner with 14 minutes left in the match when Katie Hutchinson (Dixfield, ME) connected on a unassisted goal to give the Lady Mariners the 1-0 victory. The Lady Mariner defense was outstanding, shutting out the Owls 1-0 for the second time this year.
Lacey Jackson (York, PA) got her 9th win of the season in goal for MMA upping her record to 9-6, and collected her 6th shutout. Keeper Billie Martin made 9 saves on 10 shots while giving up just one goal for the Owls.
Next up for the Lady Mariners is a NAC match against Elms College on Sunday at 12pm. This is senior day for the Lady Mariners.
