Lady Mariners beat UMPI 1-0
Presque Isle, Maine - The Maine Maritime Women’s Soccer team won on Saturday, beating UMaine Presque Isle 1-0. The win moves MMA's season record to 2-3 and the shut out was the team's second of the season.
MMA got on the scoreboard in the first 18 minutes of the match when Diana Manatt-Rogers (Conway, MA) gathered a loose ball after a keeper save and slid it into the goal to give the Lady Mariners a 1-0 lead. MMA had several other chances to score on their 14 shots but failed to capitalize and walked away with the 1-0 victory.
Lacey Jackson (York, PA) got her 2nd win of the season in goal for MMA upping her record to 2-3, and collected her 2nd shutout. Keeper Carolynn Tuck made 7 saves on 14 shots while giving up just one goal for the Owls.
