Lady Mariners roll over Terriers
Castine, Maine --- Tatum Welch (Newport, ME) and Ashley Tilton (Lubec, ME) combined to score 32 points leading the Maine Maritime women’s basketball team to a 74-47 win over the Thomas College Terriers in a North Atlantic Conference match-up Tuesday night at Margaret Smith Gymnasium.
MMA improves to 5-9 overall and 1-2 in the North Atlantic Conference while the Terriers fall to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in the NAC.
Ashley Tilton (Lubec, ME) matched a career high, scoring 15 points in just 18 minutes while Tatum Welch scored a game high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Kelsi Eiane (Harpswell, ME) played well in the win, scoring 6 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and dishing out a game high 7 assists. The Mariners jumped out to an 11-point half time lead and proceeded to outscore the Terriers by 16 in the second half. The Lady Mariners held the Terriers to 31.6% shooting in the game.
The Terriers, were led by Amy Miles (Waldo, ME), who scored a team-high 14-points. Alexis Evans (Emden, ME) was the only other Thomas player to score in double figures with 10 points. Mile also led the Terriers with 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
