Husson runs past MMA 76-64
Castine, Maine --- Ashley Bragdon (Newport, ME) scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds leading the Husson Eagles to a 76-64 victory over Maine Maritime on Saturday in a conference match-up at Margaret Smith Gymnasium.
The Eagles led 31- 27 at the half and pushed the lead up to as much as 10 points midway through the second stanza. MMA inched back to within three points on several occasions but couldn't get over the hump and eventually fell by the 12 point deficit.
Bree Hanscom (Mattawamkeag, ME) played well in the win scoring 12 points, while Shelby Bradford (Lee, ME) had a double double with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Laura Archer (Ellsworth, ME) chipped in with 11 points. Caitlyn Butterfield (Gorham, ME) led the team with 4 assists.
MMA was led by Tatum Welch's (Newport, ME) 11 points and 8 rebounds, while Sam Goda (Eliot, ME) contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds. Katie Pushard (Winthrop, ME) chipped in with 8 points and a game high 5 assists.
With the win, Husson improves to 6-6 on the season and 2-0 in the NAC while MMA drops to 4-9 on the season and 0-2 in the NAC.
