Lady Mariners lose in overtime to Green Mountain 66-64
Castine, Maine --- Christina Chamberlin (Woodstock, VT) scored 21 points and grabbed a game high 13 rebounds as the Green Mountain College Eagles defeated the Maine Maritime women’s basketball team in overtime by the score of 66-64 in a North Atlantic Conference match-up Saturday afternoon at Margaret Smith Gymnasium.
MMA drops to 5-11 overall and 1-4 in the North Atlantic Conference while the Eagles improve to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the NAC.
Green Mountain got solid contributions from Molly Hopper (Gouverneur, NY) who scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Brittany Holden (Schenectady, NY) and Emma Buckley (Lakeville, NY) each added 8 points apiece. The Eagles shot 40% for the game and still won despite giving up 31 offensive rebounds.
Tatum Welch (Newport, ME) led the Lady Mariners with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Jessica Stahl (Bowdoin, ME) had a career high 13 points, while Katie Pushard chipped in with 12. The Lady Mariners shot 27% from the floor and were only 4 for 36 from beyond the arc.
