Lady Mariners sinks Wheelock Wildcats 75-36
Castine, Maine – The Lady Mariners won their second straight conference game beating Wheelock 75-36 Saturday afternoon. The Lady Mariners held a 32-16 advantage at half time and pulled away in the second half outscoring the Wildcats 43-20. The Lady Mariners had 12 people score in the game and forced Wheelock into 38 turnovers.
Elizabeth Cote (Brewer, ME) led the Lady Mariners scoring 10 points and grabbing 3 rebounds while Katie Hutchinson (Dixfield, ME) and Brittany Hunt (pictured left) both added 9 points. Jessica Stahl contributed 8 points and 4 rebounds in 8 minutes of play for MMA.
Wheelock sophomore guard Sarah Brown (Plainville, CT), led all scorers with 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while senior guard Elise Ordille (Waltham, MA) added 8 points and 3 rebounds in the loss.
With the win the Lady Mariners improve to 8-7 on the year and 3-1 in conference play and will be back in action January 22nd when they travel to Thomas College for a 7:30 tip-off. The Wildcats fall to 2-8 and will be back in action January 21st when they host Bard College.
