MMA has 21 half time lead and cruises to a win over the Clippers 67-48
The Lady Mariners won their first game of the Mariner Classic against the University of Maine Machias Clippers 67-48.
Leading the way for the Lady Mariners was junior forward Megan Franklin (pictured right) who contributed 10 points, 17 rebounds, and 2 steals. Freshmen forward Tatum Welch (Newport, ME) scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds and freshmen guard Amanda Barker (Oakland, ME) added 8 points and 2 steals. Katie Pushard (Winthrop, ME) led MMA with 5 assists and also contributed 8 points.
Senior forward Sara Wells (Phippsburg, ME) played well in the loss scoring 11 points and grabbing 6 rebounds before fouling out. Freshmen forward Jennia Hare (Houghton, ME) also scored 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.
With the win Maine Maritime improves to 3-1 on the season while UMaine Machias drops to 4-4.
