Lady Mariner Volleyball batters the Rams 3-0

Castine, Maine - The Lady Mariner volleyball team hosted the Unity College Rams in a non-conference match up tonight and ran away with a 3-0 win. Chelsea Ward (Homer, AK) collected 11 kills, 2 aces, and 4 digs in the match while sophomore opposite hitter Heather Moore (Macedon, NY) had 9 kills and 3 aces. Freshman setter Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, MD) was outstanding as well collecting 29 assists and 5 aces in the victory. The win improved MMA’s overall record to 16-2 on the season.

In the match, The Lady Mariners got off to a quick start and cruised to victory beating Unity College by the score of 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, and 25-13). Sophomore Lauren Sakahara (Bellevue, WA) played well adding 7 digs and 7 aces to the victory. The Lady Mariners collected 22 aces in the match.

Next up for the Lady Mariners is an away quad-match at home on Saturday (10/17) when they conclude their conference schedule with matches against Thomas and UMaine Farmington.
