Lady Mariner Volleyball rolls over Unity 3-0

Unity, Maine - The Lady Mariner volleyball team traveled to Unity College in a non-conference match up tonight and ran away with a 3-0 win. Amy Young (Cumberland, ME) collected 11 kills, 3 aces, and 6 digs in the match while sophomore opposite hitter Kayley Rodriguez (Quincy, IL) had 6 kills and 4 aces. Freshman setter Jennifer Dixon (Woodstock, MD) was outstanding as well collecting 24 assists in the victory. The win improved MMA’s overall record to 6-1 on the season.

In the match, The Lady Mariners got off to a quick start and cruised to victory beating Unity College by the score of 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, and 25-23). Senior Katherine McMillan (Belfast, ME) played well adding 8 digs to the victory. The Lady Mariners collected 11 aces in the match.

Next up for the Lady Mariners is an away tri-match at Husson University on Saturday (9/19) when they get their conference schedule underway with matches against Castleton and Green Mountain.
