Lady Mariner Volleyball falls at Husson’s in key NAC contest

Bangor, Maine - The Lady Mariner volleyball traveled to Husson University in a conference match up tonight and came away with a 3-1 loss to the Eagles. MMA got off to a slow start in each of the four games and that was the difference as the Eagles beat the Lady Mariners by a total of 10 points to win their NAC regular season match-up and improve to 3-0 inconference play. The win broke MMA’s 3 match winning streak against Husson and dropped Maine Maritime's overall record to 7-8 and their NAC record to 2-1 on the season.

In the match, The Lady Mariners lost to Husson University by the score of 3-1 (19-25, 25-27, 32-30, 21-25). Nicole St. Pierre (pictured left) led MMA in kills with 9 while Lauren Sakahara (Bellevue, WA) led MMA in digs with 25. Amy Young (Cumberland, ME) played well, adding 8 kills, 7 digs, along with 2 blocks. Heather Moore (Macedon, NY) had 25 assists while Kristi Gordon (Auburn, ME) finished with 7 kills.
