Four Lady Mariners receive NAC All-Conference recognition
Tilton named Rookie of the Year
The coaches in the North Atlantic Conference recently named their All-Conference teams for Volleyball. Three Lady Mariners, Becca Allen, Michelle Ferry,Ashley Tilton and Amy Young were honored as part of that group.
Named to the NAC All-Conference First Team was Bucksport, ME senior Becca Allen, Princeton, ME sophomore Michelle Ferry and Lubec, ME freshman Ashley Tilton. On the season Becca Allen led MMA with 645 assists and 88 service aces. Michelle Ferry was second on the team in kills with 207 and tied for the team lead with 309 digs. Tilton had an outstanding freshman season collecting 145 kills, 43 aces and 275 digs.
Named to the NAC All-Conference Second Team was Cumberland, ME sophomore Amy Young. On the season Amy had a team best 252 kills, 68 aces, and tied for the team lead with 309 digs. Young also led the team with 36 blocks.
Ashley Tilton was named the Rookie of the Year in the North Atlantic Conference. The outside hitter was ranked among the league leaders in hitting percentage and digs averaging 3.69 digs per contest while hitting .286.

2007 NAC VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS ANNOUNCED
Elms junior middle hitter Jeanette Nunez was selected the North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the conference coaches. In her first year in the conference, Nunez led the league in hitting percentage (.392), kills per game (4.40) and service aces per game (1.70).
Maine Maritime freshman Ashley Tilton was honored as the conference Rookie of the Year. The outside hitter was ranked among the league leaders in hitting percentage and digs averaging 3.69 digs per conference contest while hitting .286.
Elms head coach Kathy Markowski was honored as NAC Coach of the Year. Markowski, who is in her third year with the Blazers, has engineered a turn around at Elms taking a team which was 3-7 in conference play a season ago and challenging for the conference title with a 6-2 mark and berth in the NAC tournament semifinals.
Thomas College was honored with the Team Sportsmanship Award. NAC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches. Additional players honored are due to ties in the voting.
