Lady Mariners End Regular Season with Two Wins

Bangor, Maine - The Lady Mariner Volleyball team was at Husson College for the second weekend in a row, and ended their regular season with two more victories. MMA beat Husson 3-1 then knocked off UMaine Presque Isle 3-0 improving their overall record to 16-5 on the season. Senior setter Becca Allen had an outstanding day, leading the Lady Mariners with 60 assists in the two matches.

In the first match the Lady Mariners beat Husson College by the score of 3-1 (30-20, 12-30, 30-23 and 30-22). Amy Young (Cumberland, ME) led MMA with 13 kills and 18 digs. Becca Allen (Bucksport, ME) had 27 assists and 19 digs. Nicole St. Pierre (pictured left) had 10 kills and Ashley Tilton (Lubec, ME) played well collecting 6 kills and 21 digs. The win improved MMA’s record to 15-5 (7-1 NAC) on the year.

In the second match of the day for MMA, the Lady Mariners defeated the Owls from UMaine Presque Isle by the score of 3-0 (30-20, 30-12, 30-17). The win improved MMA's record to 16-5 on the season. Becca Allen once again led MMA with 33 assists, 11 digs, 2 aces and 3 kills. Michelle Ferry (Princeton, ME) had 13 kills and 2 aces, while Kristi Gordon (Auburn, ME) finished with 12 kills and 3 blocks.

Next up for the Lady Mariners is a home playoff game against Castleton State College on Wednesday the 31st at 6pm.
