Lady Mariners Split on the Road

Boston, MA. - The Lady Mariner volleyball team traveled to Lesley University and came away with a win and a loss on the trip.

In the first match, the Lady Mariners beat Becker College by the score of 3-1 (29-30, 30-17, 30-10, 30-26). Nicole St. Pierre (Baileyville, ME) led MMA with 15 kills, and Amy Young (Cumberland, ME) continued her stellar play with 13 kills and 14 digs. Becca Allen (Bucksport, ME) set a school record with 49 assists in the 4 game match. Kristi Gordon (pictured left) had 13 kills, while Michelle Ferry (Princeton, ME) added 28 digs for MMA. The win improved MMA's conference record to 5-0 on the season and 7-4 overall.

Their second match of the day featured the Lady Mariners and the host school, Lesley University. MMA lost a tough 5 game match 2-3 (25-30, 30-24, 30-19, 26-30, 13-15). Michelle Ferry had 20 kills and Amy Young had 13 kills, 25 digs, and 5 aces. Becca Allen had 40 assists, 5 aces, and 24 digs. Freshman Ashley Tilton (Lubec, ME) played well, collecting 18 digs and 10 kills.
The loss moves MMA to 7-5 on the season and 5-1 in the NAC.
