Katrina Dagan
Head Coach
 In 2010 Katrina Dagan will enter her sixth season as the Head Softball Coach and her ninth season coaching at Maine Maritime Academy.
The softball team continues to grow and improve under Dagan. The Lady Mariners have qualified for the North Atlantic Conference playoffs for 2 of the last 3 years. Graduating only one senior in the past two seasons, the Mariners have been very young. Next season looks to be one of the strongest in the program's history. Fall ball will begin in September and will be capped off by games against Division I University of Maine at Orono and NAC rival Thomas College. The team returns eight starters, including NAC All-Stars Nicole Poland and Kayla Higgins, and will be boosted by a strong freshman class.
Dagan reports, "I am proud of the direction that the softball program is headed in. Statistically we have improved each season and we have had incredible improvement by individual players. We have a solid core of returners who have dedicated themselves to off season workouts and it has made a huge difference in our program. Academically our team GPA has continued to improve as well. This past semester our team GPA was a 2.9, which is something we are very proud of."
In addition to her softball duties, Katrina has been an assistant coach for the women's basketball team for the past eight years, and the head volleyball coach for six years. Dagan has led the volleyball team to two straight conference championships and consecutive trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Dagan also serves as the Senior Women's Administrator at MMA.
Dagan is a 1998 graduate of Springfield College, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. While at Springfield, she was a four-year performer and captain for the women's basketball team. After graduation, she went on to earn her Master's Degree in Health Education and joined the women's basketball coaching staff. Prior to arriving at MMA, Katrina taught health at Chicopee High School (Chicopee, MA), while continuing to coach at Springfield.
