Husson Takes Two From MMA

Bangor, ME – Husson University won their 14th game in a row as they swept Maine Maritime Academy. The Eagles improve to 17-11 and remain undefeated in NAC play with a 10-0 record. MMA falls to 3-17 overall and 1-9 in the NAC. Husson took the first game in five innings 9-0 and won the second game 9-3.

The Eagles started off in the first inning rallying for three runs. Dottie Cameron (So. South Plainfield, NJ) lead of the game with a triple and scored on a pass ball. Nicole Sargent (So. Sullivan, ME) would double home a run and also score later in the inning. The Eagles would take advantage of two MMA errors as they scored two unearned runs in the third. Diann Ramsey (So. Otisfield, ME) doubled and scored on a RBI single by Cameron in the fourth. The Eagles would add three more runs in the fifth as Brianna Webster (Fy. Belfast, ME) hit a walk off two run double as Husson won 9-0.

In the second game, the Eagles would once again score in the first inning as Megan Bradstreet (So. Warren, ME) hit a one out triple. Cassie Berry (Jr. Newcastle, ME) would bat next and hit Bradstreet in with a double. The Eagles would add two runs in the second, third and fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead. In the third inning, Megan Richard (So. Wilton, ME) hit a two run homerun.

MMA would rally in the top of the fifth to score three runs, highlighted by a two run single by Hannah Seamans (Jr. Athens, ME). However, in the bottom of the inning the Eagles would score two more runs and shut the Mariners out in the top of the seventh as Husson won 9-3.
