Owls beat Mariners 2-0

Presque Isle, Maine - The University of Maine at Presque Isle scored a goal in each half and went on to beat the Mariners from Maine Maritime Academy 2-0 on Saturday. UMPI striker Devon Peaslee (Woolwich, ME) accounted for both goals on the afternoon helping the Owls improve to 2-1 on the season.

The Owls tallied their first goal in the 20^th minute when Peaslee scored off a pass from Corey Fournier (Bradley, ME) and tucked it into the corner of the net. The Owls struck again at the 62 minute mark when the sophomore striker connected on his second goal of the match.

MMA keeper Randy Bartlett (Lincoln, NH) made four saves on the eight UMPI shots while UMPI keeper Richard Felbaum (Saco, ME) made two saves on three MMA shots earning the shutout and the win..

Next up for the Mariners (1-3-0) is a home match against Unity College on Thursday September 18th at 5pm.
