v UMaine Machias

Mariners beat Clippers 3-2 for first victory in 2007

Machias, Maine - Maine Maritime Academy evened their record to 1-1-0 with a victory over UMaine Machias in tonight's soccer action. In a seesaw match that featured 3 lead changes, MMA found the back of the net in the last 4 minutes to secure the road victory. The win had even more significance, as it was the first victory as the head coach of the Mariner men for Travers Evans

MMA got on the board first on a goal by freshman Dan Hassett (Falmouth, ME) off of a feed by Josh McFarlin (Searsport, ME). The Clippers bounced back to knot the score at 1-1 on a goal just before the half by Kai Baily. Tyler Eads (Belfast, ME) scored an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute to give MMA the lead again, but just two minutes later Machias tied the score on a goal from Patrick Corliss. MMA had the final tally as they got the game winner off the foot of Jeff Norman (Orono, ME) from Tyler Eads in the 86th minute of play.
