Mariners lose to Lesley 3-1

Castine, Maine - Maine Maritime Academy hosted the Lesley University Lynx on Saturday in college soccer action. Lesley came out on top in the match and stay undefeated in NAC play.

In the North Atlantic Conference match that saw Lesley score three first half goals and go on to beat Maine Maritime 3-1.

The Lynx scored first, 15 minutes into the contest when Sam Mead (Worthing, ENG) crossed the ball over the MMA keeper Randy Bartlett (Lincoln, NH) into the upper left corner of the goal. The Lynx struck again 5 minutes later when Joseph Petit (Salem, MA) finished a pass from Sam Mead off a corner kick. Lesley scored their third goal of the game when Tyler Reeves (Coventry, CT) scored an unassisted goal at the 28:14 mark of the first half.

MMA finally got on the board late in the second half when Isaiah Roberts (Machias, ME) scored off the crossbar after the Lynx keeper punched out the initial save. Randy Bartlett made 4 saves on 15 shots for MMA and Zach Almeida-Beers made 5 saves on 15 shots for the Lynx.

Next up for the Mariners (2-5-2) is a home game against the Becker Hawks on Sunday at 1pm.
