Mariners lose to Elms 1-0

Castine, Maine - Maine Maritime Academy (3-11-2) hosted the Elms College Blazers (5-10-1) in a conference game today at Ritchie Field. Elms out shot the Mariners 21 to 7 in the contest and came away with the 1-0 victory.

The Blazers scored the first and only goal of the match, 8 minutes into the contest, when Ben Masse (Chicopee, MA) deflected in a cross from Sean Moylan (Chicopee, MA) to put Elms up 1-0. Elms out shot MMA 13-3 in the first half.

Both teams had quality scoring chances in the second half but couldn’t covert them into goals. MMA keeper Randy Bartlett (Lincoln, NH) made 8 saves on 21 shots while Elms keeper Nick Pellegrini (Ludlow, MA) made 2 saves on 9 shots in the win. MMA’s season comes to a close while Elms moves on to the NAC playoffs starting on Saturday the 27^th.
