Mariners lose 0-1 to NAC foe Johnson State
The Mariners of Maine Maritime Academy came out on the wrong side of a 0-1 result after taking on NAC opponent Johnson State in Castine today.
Johnson State (4-6-0) out shot the Mariners by a margin of 20-4 for the game. Despite this advantage, Brian Nason in goal for the Mariners only made two saves on the day. In goal for Johnson State keeper Andy Lane was even less busy, making one save all game.
MMA played with only ten players after midfielder Mark Knight was dismissed for a foul in the 64th minute. Eight minutes later Johnson State's Telar Telar capitalized on a defensive mistake in front of the MMA goal to score the only goal of the game.
Next up for the 0-8-2 Mariners is an away contest against Thomas College on Wednesday at 3:00pm.
