Husson rips MMA 72-36

Castine, Maine - The Husson University Eagles used stifling defense to overwhelm the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners 72-36 on Saturday afternoon in a conference match-up at Margaret Smith Gymnasium.

With the win, Husson improves to 5-8 on the season, and 2-0 in conference while MMA falls to 5-8 with the loss and 1-1 in conference play.

Jay Urhin (Winterport, ME) led the Eagles, scoring 14 points on 6-6 shooting from the floor, while Matt McKenzie (Warren, ME) and Brock Bradford (Kenduskeag, ME) each scored 12 points. The Eagles shot a scorching 55.6% from the floor and defensively held the Mariners to 21.4% shooting.

Derek DiFrederico (Millinocket, ME) was the only Mariner in double figures, scoring 11 points. Jake Manner (Frankfort, ME) led MMA with 9 rebounds.
