MMA wins on the road over Thomas 60-49

Waterville, Maine - The Mariners improved to 5-0 in conference play beating Thomas College Tuesday evening 60-49. MMA played tremendous defense holding the Terriers to 49 points and 31% shooting. MMA out-rebounded Thomas 51-29 to secure the victory.

Derek DiFrederico (Millinocket, ME) played outstanding leading the Mariners with 19 points including 4-5 from beyond the arc. Neil Stewart (pictured left) chipped in with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Adam Haskell (Winslow, ME) added 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. MMA led at half time 33-29.

Michael Burchill (Saco, ME) led Thomas College with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Andrew Duncanson (Westbrook, ME) contributed 9 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals in the loss.

With the win MMA improves to 7-7 on the year while Thomas drops to 5-11 and 0-6 in NAC play. Maine Maritime will be back in action on Saturday when they host UMPI for a 2:00pm start. Thomas will be back on the court January 25^th when they host Becker College.
