MMA Outlasts Johnson State 81-65

Castine, Maine – Maine Maritime improved to 9-11 on the season beating the Johnson State College 81-65. MMA held a 43-31 half time lead and managed to hold that margin en route to the 16-point victory. MMA out-rebounded the Badgers 39-30 and forced 22 turnovers on the afternoon.

Chad Paddock (Dayton, OH) led the way for the Mariners scoring 24 points, connecting on 12 of his 13 shots from the floor. Adam Haskell (Winslow, ME) continued his strong play contributing 18 points and 13 rebounds. Derek DiFrederico (Millinocket, ME) added 13 points and 4 assists in the win.

Johnson State guard Charlie Viana (Valley Stream, NY) scored 21 points in the loss while Leandro Martinez and Bobby Shedd (Johnson, VT) had 14 and 10 points respectively. Miles Smith Jr. (Philadelphia, PA) played well in the loss scoring 5 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists.

With the win the Mariners improve to 9-11 (6-4) on the year while Johnson State falls to 9-13 (4-6) on the season. MMA will be back in action when they travel to Lesley University on Saturday the 16^th for a 7:30pm tip-off.
