Husson beats MMA 78-65
Bangor, Maine - Husson improved to 16-9 on the season beating the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners 78-65 in the regular season finally Friday evening. MMA found themselves down 42-23 at the half and couldn't overcome the 19 point deficit in the second half despite playing some inspired basketball.
Derek DiFrederico (pictured left) played tremendous for MMA scoring 21 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and collecting 4 steals. Chad Paddock (Dayton, OH) chipped in with 17 points and rebounds while Neil Stewart (Rangeley, ME) added 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in the loss.
Sheraud Lee (Bridgeport, CT) led the way for Husson scoring 20 points including 5 three pointers in the game. Matt MacKenzie scored 18 points and grabbed a team high 8 rebounds while Brock Bradford (Kenduskeg, ME) contributed 12 points in the win.
With the win Husson improves to 16-9 (10-3) on the year and finishes in first place in the Eastern Division of the NAC. MMA drops to 10-13 (7-6) and finishes in third place in the Eastern Division of the NAC. Maine Maritime will be back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Becker College for the quarterfinal round of the NAC Tourney and Husson will host to Johnson State College on Tuesday in a first round match-up.
