Maine Maritime coasts to win over Lyndon State

MMA's Chris Keiley and Brian Corain score 4 times each

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – Brian Corain and Christopher Keiley scored four goals each to lead Maine Maritime Academy to a 16-6 North Atlantic Conference victory over Lyndon State College Wednesday afternoon.

The Mariners jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one quarter of play and extended the lead to 10-1 by half time.

Wade Mondoux had three goals for the winners while teammate Garrett Lake had two. Nick Lund and Ryan Williams chipped in one goal each for MMA who upped its record to 5-1 overall as well as in the NAC.

Daniel Redmond made nine saves for the Mariners to earn the win.

For Lyndon, Chris Mansour tallied three goals, Craig Salvagno chipped in two and Collin Blanchard had one. Matt Adams made 12 saves for the Hornets, who fell to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in the NAC.

Lyndon State returns to action Saturday when it plays host to St. Joseph’s College of Maine. Game time is scheduled for 1pm at the LSC Athletics Field.
