Maine Maritime cruises past Lyndon State 15-6
MERIDAN, N.H. Garrett Lake and Nate Bolduc scored three goals each to lead Maine Maritime Academy to a 15-6 victory over Lyndon State College Sunday. The contest, originally scheduled for Lyndonville, Vt., was moved to Kimball Union Academy due to poor field conditions on the LSC campus.
Lake and Bolduc fired home two goals each in the first quarter as the Mariners jumped out to a 7-2 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back.
The Hornets trailed 14-3 at halftime, but outscored MMA 4-2 in the final 30 minutes of play. Chris Mansour tallied three goals for Lyndon State, Craig Salvagno scored two; and Nate Taylor and Scott Scott had one each. Scott, Salvagno and Taylor collected one assist each in the game as did Myles Hacking, Colin Blanchard and Marc Hendrickson.
Christopher Keiley, Ryan Gannon, Wade Mondoux and Todd Murphy scored two goals each for the Mariners while Richard McKee and Michael Vangelist chipped in one apiece.
MMA goalkeeper Patrick Jones made 11 saves to get the win and LSC netminder Matt Adams had 12.
Maine Maritime (4-4) will host Mount Ida on Saturday, April 12 at 1 p.m. and Lyndon State (1-2) will return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Worcester, Mass. for a 3:30 p.m. match up with Becker College.
