Maine Maritime Finishes 6th in Colby College Golf Classic
With a composite score of 252, the Maine Maritime Golf team finished 6th in the Colby College Golf Classic held on Sunday September 21 at the Waterville Country Club in Oakland, Maine. The tournament featured a modified scoring format that included two man teams. Holes 1-6 were played as best ball, 7-12 were played as a scramble, and holes 13-18 were played in alternate shot format. The tandem of Michael Smith and Luke Nielson had the low score for MMA with a 78 for the tournament, which was played under partly cloudy skies.
Other MMA scores were Charlie Boulrisse and Mark Maio who combined to shoot an 84
Husson College's Chris Coffin and Chris Hamel shot a 68 to gain medalist honors while the Husson College team finished first for the team championship with a score of 217.
MMA is again in action on Sunday September 28, when they host the Mariner Classic at the Castine Golf Club.
