Husson Wins NAC Golf Championship
Adam Duplisea of Husson Earns NAC Player of the Year
Boothbay, Maine October 14, 2007 Husson College held on to their first round lead by winning with a two-day team total of 619 to win the North Atlantic Conference Championships at the Boothbay Golf Club in Boothbay, Maine. Castleton State College scored a 656 for second place in the Championship. The University of Maine Farmington, Elms, Thomas, Becker, and Maine Maritime Academy finished 3rd-7th respectively.
Charlie Boulrisse was the top MMA golfer finishing 19th with a two day total of 174. Michael Smith (22nd) shot a 179, Nathan Bears (24th) shot a 182, and Mark Bailey (29th had a total of 189. MMA finished the two day event with a team total of 724.
The individual medalists and North Atlantic Conference Player of the year honors for 2007 went to Adam Duplisea of Husson College who shot 77, 71 for a two day total of 148.
Joining Duplisea on the NAC All Conference First Team were Elms College’s Neil Daigneault finished second with a 153 (78, 75), University of Maine at Farmington’s Kyle Feltis finished third with a 158 (80, 78), Husson College’s Chris Coffin finished fourth with a 158 (78, 80), and Castleton State College’s Bryan Smith finished fifth with a 159 (81, 78) in rounding out the NAC All Conference First Team.
The NAC All Conference Second Team was made up of Chris Hamel (Husson), Adam Packard (Husson), Eric Slosek (Castleton State), Ben Malone (Becker), and Ben Costain (Thomas)
The NAC Rookie of the Year was Husson College’s Chris Hamel with a score of 160 (81, 79).
The 2007 NAC Golf Coach of the Year award went to the University of Maine Farmington’s Bob Timmons. UMF was also honored with the team sportsmanship award.
