Mariners announce 2009 captains
Post season awards given
On January 19th, the 2008 Maine Maritime Academy football team came together to celebrate the 2008 season and the eight members of the senior class. Cody Andrews (Holden, ME), Matt Boobar (Stillwater, ME), Jon Farrin (Boothbay Harbor, ME), Chris Kates (Lisbon Falls, ME), Steve Keroack (York, ME), Rob Leighton (Auburn, ME), John Logus (Southington, CT), and Chris Mitchell (Skowhegan, ME) were all honored on the evening for their commitment to the football program over the past four years. Gridiron Club Honors Andrews
The Bulger Lowe Award, “New England’s Heisman Trophy” and one of America’s oldest college football accolades, recognizes the six-state region’s best players in the NCAA Bowl and Championship Divisions, formerly known as Division IA and IAA. NEFW All-Star Selections
BOSTON, MA Twenty-eight players representing 17 different teams have been named to the 2008 New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England team. NEFC Bogan Division Champion Maine Maritime Academy, and Merrimack College had three players selected. More>

NEFC All-Division Teams Announced
The 2008 Maine Maritime Mariners enjoyed one of the most successful fall seasons in over a decade. One that saw them post a 7-4 overall record, a Bogan Division Title, and a trip to the NEFC Championship game.Coaches from the NEFC recognized 11 individual Mariners. Leading the way was senior lineman Chris Mitchell who was named the NEFC Bogan Division Offensive Lineman of the Year. More>

Plymouth State downs the Mariners 46-16, wins NEFC Title
Castine, Maine Senior running back Jeff Mack (Milford, NH) ran for a game high 139 yards on 31 carries and scored two touchdowns, as Plymouth State University improved to 10-1 on the season with a decisive 46-16 victory over Maine Maritime Academy Saturday afternoon in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Championship game.
