Maine Maritime Football Standout Jim Bower Honored by D3football.com

Castine, ME. – D3football.com recently named Maine Maritime football standout, Jim Bower, to the First Team Offense of the All-East Region Team. Bower caps off a brilliant career in which he ran for over 4,000 yards and 370 career points.

Jim Bower, a former Oxford Hills High School standout, rushed for over 1,600 yards in 2009, including 22 touchdowns and 6 two-point conversions. Bower led the nation in rushing with 160.5 yards per game and ranked #2 in Division III in scoring with over 13 points per game.

Bower was named the NEFC Bogan Division Offensive Player of the Year and was also selected to the 2009 All-New England Team. Bower led the Mariners to their first NEFC Title in over a decade and their first ever birth into the NCAA Tournament.

He holds NEFC records for touchdowns in a season with 25, points in a season with 162, and led the MMA rushing attack that accumulated 4,419 yards on the ground in 2009.
