Tracy named Defensive Player of the Year

The 2007 Maine Maritime Mariners enjoyed an exciting and successful fall season, one that saw them post a 5-4 overall regular season record, and a 4-3 record in the highly competitive Bogan Division of the NEFC.

Coaches from the New England Football Conference recognized several individual Mariner accomplishments. Leading the way was senior linebacker Chris Tracy - pictured right - (Westbrook, Maine) who was named the NEFC Bogan Division Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining Tracy as a First Team Defense selection was junior Defensive Back Rob Leighton (Auburn, Maine). Selected to the Second Team Defense were junior Defensive Tackles Steve Keroack (York, Maine), and Cody Andrews (Holden, Maine).

On the offensive side of the ball, senior running back Brandon Goodrich (Waterboro, Maine) who rushed for over 900 yards on the season, was named to the First Team Offense. Receiving Second Team Offense honors was junior Guard Chris Mitchell (Skowhegan, Maine).
