Maine Maritime Mariners run over Framingham State to up season record to 7-2
Sophomore defensive back Nate Bolduc (Farmington, ME) intercepted Ram quarterback Eian Bain (Stafford Springs, CT) on the very first play from scrimmage to set up a 8 play, 32 yards drive that resulted in a Brandon Goodrich (Waterboro, ME) 5 yard touchdown run to give the Mariners an early 6-0 lead.

Chris Clayton (Lexington, MA) caused a safety with 2:08 left in the first quarter to up the score to 8-0 in Maine Maritime’s favor.

MMA jumped out to a 14-0 lead right at the start of the second quarter when senior quarterback BJ Dunlap (Norridgewock, ME) connected with Jon Farrin (Boothbay Harbor, ME) on a 26 yard pass. Dunlap’s kick was good to make the score 15-0.

Just over a minute later, Don Thibodeau (Lawrence, ME) ran another Mariner score into the end zone, this time from 3 yards out. With 6:32 remaining in the half Thibodeau got his second touchdown of the afternoon when he ran in from 2 yards out. The Mariner lead at halftime was 22-0.

In the second half it was MMA who scored again when Cody Schmidt (Jamestown, NY) caught a BJ Dunlap 55 yard pass at the 4:47 mark in the third quarter. The Rams of Framingham State finally got on the scoreboard when Bill Meuse (Tewksbury, MA) caught a 58 yard pass from Evan McCullough (Stoneham, MA) with 14:26 left in the game.

The Mariners ran the ball 70 times for a total of 333 yards on the day, with Thibodeau leading the way with 160 yards gained on 25 carries. Dunlap threw the ball 9 times, connecting twice for a total of 81 yards.

For Framingham, Eian Bain (Stafford Springs, CT) threw for 72 yards, and Evan McCullough (Stoneham, MA) threw for 151 yards.

Maine Maritime end their regular season with a 7-2 record, and Framingham State close out the year at 2-7.
