Mariner Student-Athletes represented well in graduation honors
As part of the 65th Maine Maritime Academy commencement ceremonies on May 3rd, several Mariner and Lady Mariner student-athletes were prominently featured.
Four of the graduating "Summa Cum Laude" and "Magna Cum Laude" seniors were student athletes. Volleyball standout Rebecca Allen (Bucksport, Maine) and Women's basketball player Jo-Ann Provencher (Quebec, Canada) graduated "Summa Cum Laude" while Women's Basketball player Kaitlyn Leeman (Baileyville, ME) and Cross Country runner Matthew Munroe (Kennebunkport, ME) graduated "Magna Cum Laude".
Graduating "Cum Laude" were Men's Golfer Nathan Bears (Millinocket, Maine), and Football/Lacrosse player Nate Bolduc (Farmington,Maine).
Earlier in the day at the Graduation Awards Ceremony, six student athletes received awards from various participating sponsors.
Women's basketball players Jo-Ann Provencher and Kaitlyn Leeman, Women's Volleyball player Rebecca Allen, Softball player Hillary Arris (Falmouth, Maine), Golfer Nathan Bears, and Football player Joe Blier (Bangor, Maine) were all presented with awards.
